Our focus is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of ways by which solutions through agricultural R4D are delivered in developing countries.
We believe that value chain enhancement is the central theme of an efficient agricultural R4D system. We wish to promote innovative, science-based agricultural technologies that benefit smallholders.
We believe this can be achieved though integrated agricultural research for development (IAR4D) for food, nutrition, and health security, adapted to changing climate conditions. In turn, that will require increased focus of education and research on the following:
- adaptation to climate change and mitigation;
- sustainable management of natural resources and biodiversity conservation;
- knowledge management, using information and communication technology; and
- gender-responsive technologies.
We plan to achieve our goals by reaching out to a range of individuals and institutions from government, non-governmental, and other organizations, including private sector organizations, for an inclusive engagement in sustainable agriculture and conservation of natural resources.
